The updating, maintaining, and rebuilding of our Masjid is and always will be on the forefront of all the Muslims in the community. With each passing year, we can see what the environment can do. From the paint chippings, to the crack windows, from the steps going into the Masjid, to the ramp leading away from the Masjid, these are among a few things that lack attention. However, the one thing we need donations for is a new building, an apartment, which will be next to the Masjid. This apartment will house many of our Muslims. By adding this addition, we will have the opportunity to allow Muslims families and\/or single Muslims to frequent the Masjid, allowing them a safe place where the students and\/or families can go and continue to go without the long voyage of finding a ride, or car problems.\u00a0 Having an apartment will give a close proximity to the Masjid where the brothers can be at the Masjid at all times, and give the sisters the opportunity to visit the Masjid continuously.<\/p>\n

Why we want to rebuild the \u2018Waqf\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n

More importantly, it will allow us to keep the Masjid going. Because our community is a college community, and we do not have permanent members who can shoulder the needs and responsibilities of up keeping and managing the Masjid, this apartment style building will allow the flow of income to continue to generate money. With the flow of money coming in, it can help with the many updating work needing to be done inside the Masjid. This money will provide the use of lights, the use of water, and any other important cost to be paid as well as buying much-needed items for everyday use.\u00a0 All funds will go directly to the Masjid. Nothing will be wasted!<\/p>\n

Our plan<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This type of housing has worked for us in the past. We have bought a family house about 15 years go, in which we have rented a home to a family. This little income has helped the Masjid, but it is not enough. It is up to you now to help in this current project; to provide the long-term use of the Masjid to remain here. Our goal is to make sure that when our students leave, there will always be a Masjid for the new Muslims to come. \u00a0\u00a0This makes a continuous and long-term investment for our future.<\/p>\n
