Quran Class Schedule:

Boys: Every Saturday

Age Groups:

First Group: Ages 8 to 11

Second Group: Ages 12 and above

Girls: Every Sunday

Age Groups:

First Group: Ages 8 to 11

Second Group: Ages 12 and above

Class Timings: 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM

During the class, there will be a break for DHUHR prayer, and snacks will be provided to the students. There are no fees associated with the Quran class.

To enroll your child in the Quran class, please visit the Islamic Center of Manhattan’s office during our operating hours. Alternatively, you can also visit our website or attached link and submit the Quran class registration form.

The primary objectives of  Quran memorization, writing, and reading Quran are:

  1. Memorization of Quran: The first objective of the Quran class is to teach students how to memorize the Quran. Memorizing the Quran is considered a noble and rewarding act in Islam, and it is believed that the Quran is best preserved in the hearts of its believers. Therefore, Quran class place a strong emphasis on helping students memorize the Quran through regular recitation and memorization exercises.
  1. Reading and understanding Quran: The second objective the Quran class is to teach students how to read and understand the Quran. The Quran class will use AL-Qaeda AL-Nooraniah to help students improve their Arabic reading skills and gain a deeper understanding of the meaning and message of the Quran. This includes teaching students how to properly pronounce Arabic letters, words, and phrases, and how to comprehend the context of Quranic verses.
  2. Writing Quran: The third objective of the Quran class is to teach students how to write the Quran in Arabic. This includes teaching students the correct way to write Arabic letters and words and how to write the Quranic text in the traditional Arabic calligraphy style.

Overall, the primary objectives of the Quran class is teaching Quran memorization, writing, and reading Quran to help students develop a strong connection with the Quran, increase their knowledge and understanding of Islam, and become better Muslims who are equipped to live their lives according to the teachings of the Quran.

While at class, students are expected to exhibit good moral character.

This includes:

Being honest and truthful in their words and actions.

Showing kindness and compassion towards others.

Respecting other student of different cultures and backgrounds.

Taking responsibility for their own actions and not blaming others.

Avoiding behavior that is harmful to oneself or others, such as bullying or aggression.

Being mindful of their behavior and its impact on those around them.

Showing gratitude and appreciation towards their teachers

IPad Rules for Student

1.  IPads are to be used for educational purposes as directed by the teacher.

2.  Keep the iPad clean and free from any damage.

3.  Only use the apps and websites approved by the teacher.

4.  Handle the iPad carefully and responsibly.

5.  Do not download or install any apps without the teacher’s permission.

6.  Do not take pictures or videos without the teacher’s permission.

7.  Return the iPad to its designated charging station when not in use.

8.  Report any technical issues or problems with the iPad to the teacher immediately.

Student Cellphones MUST BE TURNED OFF during class hours. Students caught talking or ‘messaging’ on their phones will have the devices confiscated, and may be subject to disciplinary action.

It is important for students to understand the expectations set by the Quran class and to take them seriously. Arriving on time and attending class regularly are crucial for learning and benefiting from the class. Students should also understand that Islamic education is an important aspect of their lives and should be treated with respect.

(Note): Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated in the Quran class. Any student who engages in disruptive behavior or fails to follow the rules and guidelines set by the teacher may be subject to disciplinary action.

We encourage all parents to register their children for these Quran classes as they will provide an excellent opportunity for the children to learn and grow in their Islamic knowledge.
